Water Games

1. Water Balloon Toss

Pair up players and toss water balloons back and forth. Step farther apart after each successful catch. Last pair with an unbroken balloon wins.

2. Sponge Relay

Teams race to transfer water from a bucket using only a sponge. First team to fill their empty bucket wins.

3. Slip ‘n Slide

Classic! Lay down a long plastic sheet, wet it, and let players slide across for distance or style points.

4. Water Bucket Brigade

Teams pass water down a line using cups or small containers. Fastest team to fill the end bucket wins.

5. Water Balloon Dodgeball

Divide into teams. Throw balloons at opponents — if you get hit, you’re out.

6. Sponge Fight

Players throw wet sponges at each other in a designated play area.

7. Water Gun Tag

Everyone has a water gun. If you get hit, you’re frozen until another player “unfreezes” you.

8. Wet T-Shirt Relay

Teams carry soaked T-shirts or towels across a course without dripping water outside the lane.

9. Duck, Duck, Splash

Variation of Duck Duck Goose — “Goose” gets a cup of water poured over them instead of being tagged.

10. Water Balloon PiƱata

Hang water balloons and let players hit them with a bat or stick while blindfolded.

11. Ice Cube Race

Players transfer ice cubes from one bucket to another using only spoons. The first team to move all cubes wins.

12. Water Limbo

Use a hose to spray water sideways as a “limbo bar” for players to duck under.

13. Sponge Target Toss

Throw wet sponges at a target (bucket, circle, or person) to score points.

14. Bucket Head

Players fill a cup of water and pour it over a teammate’s head — race to finish first.

15. Water Balloon Volleyball

Set up a net or rope. Hit water balloons over to the other team without popping.

16. Floating Race

Teams make small objects float across a pool or water tray using only straws (blowing) or hands.

17. Water Obstacle Course

Set up cones, sprinklers, and buckets. Players complete the course while staying wet and dodging obstacles.

18. Sponge Catch

Toss soaked sponges into the air for a partner to catch — challenge by adding distance.

19. Water Bucket Flip

Players fill a small cup with water, run to a target, and flip it into a bucket — fastest team wins.

20. Wet Paper Airplane

Make paper airplanes, dip them in water, and see whose plane flies the farthest.

21. Water Limbo

Use a hose or rope as a low “bar” and have players bend under without getting sprayed or knocked over.

22. Balloon Pop Relay

Teams race to pop water balloons by sitting or stomping on them — relay style.

23. Sponge Tag

Players tagged must kneel until freed by someone hitting them with a soaked sponge.

24. Water Bucket Balance

Players carry a bucket of water on their head or hands across a line without spilling.

25. Water Gun Obstacle Challenge

Set up a small course; players shoot targets or hit buckets with water guns to complete the challenge.

26. Water Balloon Battleships

Players: 2 teams
Equipment: Water balloons, volleyball net or rope to divide teams
How to Play:

  • One team lies down on one side of the net as “ships” and cannot move.

  • The other team gets 2–3 water balloons each to throw over the net, trying to hit the “ships.”

  • Scoring:

    • Splash on the body: 5 points

    • Head hit: 10 points

  • After all balloons are thrown, teams switch roles.
Goal: Score the most points before all balloons are used.
